Sorry for the gap in updates. We've had a busy day (fortunately not too busy with Peter going back and forth).
Peter continued to have seizures until 3 am, but there haven't been any more that we know of--that's exciting. He isn't breathing much on his own now at all though, and his ventilator is on a fairly high rate again. His heart rate has also been consistently lower than we'd like to see.
More positive news--the milk rate for his feeding tube was turned up and will be turned up again around 6 this evening unless something changes. He only needs IV fluid now in small amounts as a carrier for his medications. He also had some great "baby movements" and was very alert for quite a bit this afternoon. We love seeing his beautiful, wise dark eyes. It's likely that he had this time because they turned off the versed for awhile (one of his seizure meds; it's a relaxant). But that was just for a break, so now that he's back on it he hasn't had an active period.
He is also receiving albumin (something that helps with fluid levels and a few other things in his blood). He also has some blisters and other skin issues from all of the tapes. The nurses are doing their best to keep him as comfy as possible. We have met some very nice people.
Joey, Joseph Michael, and I are going to go for a quick walk around the hospital since Peter's condition is fairly "stabilized" right now. More updates probably after we talk with the doctor this evening.
